That's correct, it is a waltz, but it's usually a musette waltz, with certain characteristics: usually a "wet-tuned" instrument (the reeds are tuned just a bit "out" from each other so they 'beat' and cause a slight throb in the tone) with very chromatic bass leading and what are essentially now considered jazz chords, but without as much swing (although there is some). Usually the strongest characteristic is a blizzard of eighth notes going by, many notes at a time.

Waltz?
whats the name of this trio?? i saw them in the main square of krakow near the town hall tower two summers ago selling cds. absolutely amazing. i regret not getting one but i cant remember their name for the life of me.
