@poopipeplunger firstly sparrer never had their own security so i don't know where you got that from secondly the secutity on stage when it went off were all AFA mates of the upstarts, it was them that started the trouble by goading the skinheads in the crowd and it was in fact them that got a hiding both on stage and when they tried to leave the gig

one funny thing i remember was seeing all the black dj's loading their stuff in for the club night after the gig. they looked shocked , horrified and petrified all at the same time, taking their dj kit past police with snarling german shephard dogs and skinheads going mental. london was good fun in those days

but i do have to admit it was about 25 years ago, scarily enough. i was very drunk by the time we got there. we have been hounded around the west end all day by police, so we had to have a beer in hyde park. then we all met up later in the tottenham, i was much interested in any of the bands playing. i had seen them all many times, but it was a good drink up, and west end fun. i think i was in there about an hour maximum before it kicked off, and we all had to leave.

@poopipeplunger the security on stage that night was nicky crane, who was head of skrewdriver security. also charlie sargeant who started combat 18. those guys were about as much nazi as you could get in those days you actually see nicky crane on this video shot from the side of the stage. like i say i dont remember any dogs on the stage that night, and i can guarentee the security was nothing to do with cock sparrer

@symond Cock Sparrer didn't play but it was their security (as stated) i remember their t-shirts clearly , they did have dogs they were Rottweillers and i saw police with riot shields etc, i know what isaw.. It was a shit gig that i wished i never bothered with, i still have half of the ticket somewhere...

@poopipeplunger you obviously weren't there, as cock sparrer didnt play that show, they werent riot police as such, they were normal cops with dogs outside, who randomly loaded skinheads into police vans. it was similar to the scene from quadrophenia. and the security on stage that night was infact nicky crane, who was about as nazi as you could get
