  • I watched it because i saw a Jeep Cherokee

  • That's one of our company vehicles. Old and about to fall apart, but still is kickin!

  • How fast was it going when it coupled up to the other cars?

  • The rule is at or under 4mph.

  • Very cool. My buddy lives near the Union Pacific yard in Roseville, CA and you can hear that crushing sound all day and all night. The noise doesn't seem to bother people living out there; it's a normal sound in the back ground. I love it!

  • Lol, yeah, it can be pretty loud!

  • And on the 11th day, God said: "Let there be a train!" And: 0:54 There was a train!

  • Oh neat!

I fell asleep too last night.

  • "Armchair conductors"! :) It used to tick us off to have these "foamers" out there trying to tell us how to do our jobs! Too many of these guys are bonafied members of the "National Railway 'HYSTERICAL' Society.......almost becoming hysterical at the sight of a train! LOL! They'll pee their britches over an old freight drag! OTH, some of 'em were downright amusing! :) LMAO! It's JUST a train, boys!!! :)

  • @MattBNSF1991 seems like it's going faster than 4mph

  • Its obvious you are not the one who kicked those cars matthew....

  • how do you get cars to role like that?

  • @steamfandan I road several of your "gravel" freights. Very short, fast trains. Very different type of railroading. Not better. Not worse. Just a different means of moving freight in a much smaller geographic area.

I guess the trains I road were in the 2000 ton category. I remember flying through the station in York one morning. Very different than the US, Mexico, Canada, Brazil, etc.

  • @Boss302fan well the heviest friegt trains in britian are normally kept to 3000 tons maximum to but the average is norm 1600tons. we don't loose shunt (or as it used to be called fly shuntting) these days. wished we coukd but with our government and health and safety gone mad

  • @steamfandan Yeah, you guys don't handle freight that well. But it's a much smaller country than the US, Canada and Mexico. You railroad very differently. Short, light, fast freights scheduled between passenger runs. In North America we run much longer, heavier trains. Totally different way of doing things.

Good beer in the passenger trains though!

  • @MattBNSF1991 Nice video in fact I got to see the NS do some yard switching in Greenville, SC I walked beside a hopper car but from a distance to see it go bang

  • @jojo1athome Really? That's why you stretch after making a joint? Wow. Thirty years of railroading and I learn something new everyday.

Thanks for clarifying that jojo. I bet you can educate all of us who do this for a living as to how to properly railroad.

  • @Boss302fan It is unsafe. Sometimes the cars don't couple up properly and if you have to shove some cars in past a foul marker then those that aren't coupled can continue past without you knowing. That's the reason for stretching after making a joint.
