Shaikh Ayman Al-Taher

Shaikh Ayman Al-Taher is a Muslim counsellor and caregiver at the "Hospital for Sick Kids" since 1997. The Shaikh also worked for the Multi Faith Council (OMC) of Ontario.

Shaikh Ayman is a member of the Imam's Council of Canada and is a board member and Chairperson for many advocate groups and community organizations such as the "Muslim Children Aid and Support Services".

Shaikh Ayman is an active Khateeb in the GTA and surrounding areas serving most of the Mosques and Islamic centers.

Shaikh Ayman is a professional personal and family counsellor who uses a holistic approach of counseling (dealing with mind. body, soul and spirit). He is familiar with most of the counselling psychology models and uses them in the context of Shari'a (knowledge of Islamic Theology) in his practice. He is currently in the process of obtaining a certificate as Psychological Counselor. He is an expert in family dynamics and a believer that healthy children come from healthy families. He has also conducted many parenting workshops in different cities across Canada.

About IMO:

The IMO is a non-profit, federally registered organization, which was established in 1977. The building is located on 3.5 acres of land in one of the major Muslim areas of the city of Toronto. The centre is easily accessible by car and public transportation, which is approximately 5 minutes away from Pearson International airport. The building is about 50,000 sq. ft. and is open for five daily prayers. The prayer areas can accommodate more than 3000 Worshippers and there are other sections, which are used for educational and social purposes. A huge parking lot for more than 200 cars surrounds the building. The organization is managed by a "board of directors" consisting of nine members.
