Watch starting at 5:40, as the band stand backs and allows the choir to just "gospel it up" on stage. Look at Larry and The Edge, they are very appreciative of what's being sung.

That's the beauty of the song, bro. It speaks different things to different people. If Vande hears a message of God in it, more power to him. You don't need to jump all over him for it. That goes against everything Bono and the band stand for
