If you gonna stick always in the first position blues box, try this position - just 2 frets above the 1. Pentatonic/Blues Position. This is an Example for a Blues in G! You will find some nice extra-notes for Blues and Jump-Blues here. For example: the 6. and 9. - also minor and major 3 plus different sounds/fingerings. Try to figure out some more notes (on the lowerstrings too) and Licks in this Position, there are a lot of possibilities. Have fun.
