My daily bike commute home from Midtown Manhattan / Theater District to Jackson Heights, Queens. Our office let out early this afternoon, Friday before a holiday weekend, so traffic heading home is fairly light - it's about 3:00 PM. If you look carefully, you'll see some downed tree limbs left over from Hurricane Irene last weekend (especially in Queens).

Lots of friendly folks today - maybe since it's not rush hour - people waving to the camera. This is sped up a lot - today's ride was 6.5 miles in 40 minutes.

  • I would have just stayed on 54th! Then just taking 1st ave up to the queensboro bike path. Just a suggestion. Up the Queens bike commuters!

  • @addforme I just hate crossing 57th street on 1st avenue with everyone trying to turn left.
