The following track featuring Schumann's Canonic Study no 56 no 3 comes from the CD "Serenity and Splendour" played by Pastór de Lasala on the 1929 M.P. Möller organ at Mosman Uniting Church with Associate Artist, Gregory van der Struik. Sales of this CD will help pay for the replacement of the cable connecting the console to the case of this rare organ.

  • Very nice, Gregory and Pastor!

  • Thanks Gerard. It is one of those pieces where timing is so crucial when you are playing in canon 'follow the leader' - one slip and the whole lot will come tumbling down!

  • This is a cute piece! I love it!

  • It works well as a duo combination. It is fun to play but quite tricky.

  • Thank you all for yet another fine rendition. The pastor is a treasure on Utube. My kindest regards. raymond

  • Thank you Raymond. You are most welcome. This is just a small sample of the CD which is due this week. I am hoping it arrives before Christmas. Möller organs are extremely rare in Australia - and I am lucky to have one on which to play!

  • I recorded my performance of Franck's Cantabile (it contains a beautiful canon between the soprano and the pedal) and it was all in one piece at the end (as well as at the beginning, thankfully. Otherwise the canon would have sounded anything but "beautiful". II only had to keep my hands and feet together (and, of course, play the right notes. You and Gregory had to keep each instrument precisely together in time, which you did, admirably, if I may say so!
