Tiny camera memory and ditto pc here, therefore only the first two thirds of Ezra Pounds wonderful enigmatic fragmentory Canto 13. I've known this poem for twenty five years and it is a good 'un. I apologise for it being only a mediocre reading at best - but at least it got me to think on it and hopefully replace this with a better reading in the future.

  • Thinking abt it ... I'm not a Midlands accent tho thats nit picking on my part. In my mind as I read this I would be thinking of the radio 3 programme of eight years ago which I taped and have listened to many times. It featured the Pound scholar Michael Alexander. I also have never seen the tv programme you mention, or in fact seen any tv in twenty years. I think I would be reading this for my penpal in America.

  • Actually, when I read this I only had a tiny memory capacity on the camera so I will have been rushing to 'fit it all in'. I notice I slow down for the parts that matter.

  • This is a poor reading because of your midlands accent and becuase you haven't prepared yourself and don't know the text well enough. . Also it's poor because you are poem-deaf, which is like being tone-deaf: you're uware of the metre, assonances etc. It's not a newpaper article. You're like one of those contenstants on American Idol who think they're great yet can't sing in tune. I wouldn't have told you this but for the fact you left the comment "shit reading" on one of my poems.

  • thankyou .. i shall work on it !!

  • Thanks for your comment, I'm just a lover of words, his 'Usura' is incredible.

  • Actually I was only giving you a taste of your own medicine.

I just recorded it - feel free to retaliate.

    All the best.
