LIKE MANY OF THE GREAT SINGERS, Paolo Nutini doesn't speak in words the way he sings in song. Engage him in conversation, and you'll be greeted with a hefty Scottish brogue, his accent thick enough to spread on bread. But when he sings, something rather miraculous happens: the accent remains (Paolo isn't one of those vocalists who turns American when faced with a microphone), but his voice lifts, lightens and becomes exquisitely mellifluous. I saw him live last Wednesday, he's definitely improved his stage presence since this was filmed! He really puts his all into it now.

Don't bullshit!!! No stage presence. This is a real singer. Someone who write his one songs!!! This is the real thing!!! This is what music is all about. So shut up!!! But thnx for the video :)

I guess it's different strokes for different folks. I think Paolo is a phenomenally talented artist. There's no argument there...but I never once felt him connect to the audience. I go to live shows more nights than I stay in and this one, visually, fell short for me. I have never doubted his conviction for what he is singing, I just think that he is young and maybe hasn't discovered a true comfort zone with the stage yet.
