we are going to war, we pay taxes, taxes buy bullets, bullets hit people, some ones dies, someone else makes a profit.

Not good.

2 Million marched 5 years ago, 6000 on October 8th 2007.

What gives?

This video says how I feel about this.

If you felt this video expressed something you share, and would like other people to view it, please vote for it at Neil Youngs Web Site, where he hosts a video chart and a songs charts. The higher up it goes, the more people will see it.

The Neil Young Protest Charts are inspiring in that one can see immediately that there are thousands of songs and hundreds of videos voicing dissent, and so you are so not alone.

I'd like to acknowledge Neil Young for using his high visibility profile to promote music and videos that would have a far smaller audience - if others (Bono, Geldof et al., would do the same, instead of promoting themselves, then that would surely help people feel more encouraged, empowered and increase the probability that we the people will act together to cease the wars our governments seem so happy to engage in. It would send such a strong message to all people that they really cared.

  • I'm an American; I absolutely love my country and support the troops, but bring them home, the conflicts in Afghanistan and Iraq are tearing families and economies apart around the world. The people of the Middle East don't want us there, so let's leave and get the hell out of dodge

  • @SonofAmerica1111 I agree. I feel the same way about UK troops. And as an American who loves the land, the people, the diversity that is America, I ask you to also look to see how those who sent your brothers and sisters into harms way so recklessly can be made to account for their actions, and where those actions are deemed criminal, to bring to them to trial and imprison those so that this can never be allowed to happen again.

  • "Scientific evaluation studies have consistently shown that DARE is ineffective in reducing the use of alcohol and drugs and is sometimes even counterproductive -- worse than doing nothing. That's the conclusion of the U.S. General Accounting Office, 1 the U.S. Surgeon General, 2 the National Academy of Sciences, 3 and the U.S. Department of Education, 4 among many others. 5"

  • @sklob34 NUMBER 1 WORLD POWER is the issue here, as in that Power is used as a coercive power, not an empowering power, to limit contrasting emergent egalitarian societies and grass roots activities that challenge the basis for Power Over others as a coercive power. Your grasp of world history, abuse dynamics and reality is comic book, school text level....

  • Prison is NOT a deterrent to the professional criminal... it's a university,,

The majority of people in US prisons are there for small drugs offences which feed the prison Industry and keeps it 'profitable'...

  • SK : mate, Crime is a function of both Poverty and Power. Poverty, in and of itself, is proof positive the system is a failure.

70% of crime is down to the prohibition against drugs which can be grown easily and are not subject to patents.... thus unavailable to business to profit from...

I have been mugged three times in the past 15 years... the police were unable to do anything to prevent those muggings. And unable, if not unwilling to devote any energy to tracing those who mugged me..

    .

  • think i responded to all of them if i didnt be sure to let me know

  • ok so...heres what goes on. america is the number 1 world power, anyone attacks us we recover, set up defenses to prevent a future attack, and then we bring the hammer down on whoever attacked us and make them pay for their crimes against hummanity...but some people dont think that way and say its ok for anyone else to kill civilians EXCEPT the United States...cuz that makes a whole lotta sense

  • idk maybe because the ratio of killing civilians-millitants is growing less an less through technology. no one cared when we bombed the hell out of germany how many civilians we were killing. and we could either allow the death toll to mount up here at home or try to end the carnage alltogether by going over there.

  • police don't prevent crime? HAHA good one. its funny cuz they run the D.A.R.E. program and everything...go to schools and teach about what happens if you commit a crime and how to...well...prevent crime!
