Sorry for the quality. I was taking this video outdoor with my phone.
As you can see, the GPS in my TF201 is just fine.
This was taken under a cloudy night.

This video was uploaded from an Android phone.

  • I just got a second asus prime after returning the 1st one. It prompted me for a firmware update 8.8.3.33. After installing the update, I installed GPS test from the market, the prime found 11 sat with 8 locked (with Wifi turned off) after a couple of mins with 30 feet accuracy.

  • @sleeplessInSeattle82: The update made it a little bit better. This video was taken before the update.

  • Is it Wi-Fi off?

  • @BADBOYKIEV: I was pretty far away from my place, so I don't get any Wi-Fi and there is no free Wi-Fi in that area.

  • Cached satellites are cached

  • @slickrick909:People are complaining getting 5 hrs fix, etc. Did you think I would wait for 5hrs to get this fix (or you call it cache)? I don't even wanna stand and wait for more than 5 minutes to get a fix. Actually cold start took around 1 to 2 minutes.

  • Thanks for reply. I've tried TP of my friend and in local store and both have no GPS signal. I fear, that the signal is almost random and i'll buy without functional GPS :/

  • @Mikeva93 ive had my TP for a week now and my wifi is perfect no problems at all, also eventhough i dont use gps i downloaded the app to try it out and i got good results with around 40 feet of accuracy

  • Hi! I heard that GPS is not the only problem. Wi-Fi is not good also. Is it true? Sorry for my english. Thanks

  • let me rephrase my last comment. the gps WAS working fine until i upgraded to ICS. Now i can even get a fix. oh and since upgrading my prime freezes and reboots every 20 minutes.

  • GPS is fine? btw green means good :)

  • i just got my prime yesterday and idk if they just placed the antenna better or what, but i used my prime to accurately drive 30 miles into town.

  • i think the problem is a lot of people are using the gps without a WiFi, if you take a galaxy tab 10.1 and turn of the WiFi and try to get a lock it would take hella long just like the prime, its a WiFi only tablet what do you expect, the iPad doesn't even have a gps and this is prob the reason why, too many people bitching about a gps their prob never going to use. i have a gps in my car on my phone and on my watch why would i need a fourth gps device lol

  • @bogelo This is very good! Thank you! It inspires, after I was really scared with numerous complaints...will hope for the best. Thank you again!
