I sent my gnome into space

After a mere 3 hours of gameplay I got the Little Rocket Man Achievement on Half-Life 2: Episode 2. It was a lot easier than I had thought. As you can see by the pop-ups I did this on the 360.

A few pointers for anyone looking to get this, There are multiple places where you can just leave your gnome and go off on a side-quest. Most notably you can leave it by Alex's body to go get the larval extract and instead of taking it with you when you go get the car (probably ner impossible to ramp with him in the car anyway,) you can cast it over the wall and pick it up on the other side once you're done.

In my opinion, I think this achievement should be worth at least 50 points

It would be fine but M$ has their stupid 1000GS limit per disk, even though they've recently started eroding away at that with DLC. Guaranteed The Orange Box will get some new Achievements with the update they'll finally be releasing for TF2. But, in the end of the day achievements aren't about score for me, they're just fun challenges, and I have every one of them for tOB (except Lambda locator, I wanted to leave that for last, I have one more to get)

I praise you for your patience. It's a bitch to move him around in the car. Anyways, what did you record this with/how did you do it. It's amazing quality!

Any more tips? How did you get through the hunter chopper without losing it? Mine got shot up so many times the scatter effect stayed on it after it got shot and kept going under a train I couldn't get low enough to find.

Any more tips BESIDES just that would be great!

with the chopper I got out, shot the gnome as far as possible in-between the trains (45 degree angle), caught up to it in the car, picked it up again, repeat.

Normal cruising in the car just takes patience. put him in so he'll roll forward and backward but would have to slide side to side, this gives you more liberty on turns and you don't have to worry about hitting the gas on straightaways.

Also for capturing I use a DV convertor called an ADS Pyro A/V.

I agree.. they should have a different achievement limit for games.. I mean c'mon change things up a bit, and yeah I get the achievements because they are fun challenges, and yes it does keep me interested in games longer

Lol I tried to do this but near the begininning of the level I accidently dropped him down the elevator shaft before the elevator went doen and by the time the elevator got to the bottom my gnome was stuck there forever lol
