Adam Swanson performs "Canadian Capers"
Adam tells us that this tune was stolen from a West Coast bandleader and barber, Sid LeProtti. The date for the rag is 1916 (I think) and the song is probably what you found from the '20s with Composer/Lyricist: Gus Chandler, Bert White, & Henry Cohen. Publication: New York : Jerome H. Remick & Co., [1921?], c1915.

This performance was at an afternoon concert at the Jesse Hall Auditorium during the Boone Ragtime & Early Jazz Festival in Columbia, Missouri.

Ha ha! I know what you mean.

It's intimidating to view this level of expertise and then go sit down at the piano to attempt such wonders! That's part of the reason I switched to washboard, and I don't have to worry about what key to play in.

Adam is one incrediby fortunate young man to be born wiht such a gift. Pianist are either born or have to work extremely har to get half as good as Adam. A great number Canadian Capers bruoght back to life by Adams sublt but very strong fingers . Great andthanks for posting
