We're so content since we got our tent
And we camp overnight
We try to do it up right, but like a kerosene light
We're not very bright
We got no smog and we all bring our dogs
For security's sake
They jump in the lake, then give us a shake
It always keeps us awake

We live in the heart of the city
Where houses are crowded and dark
At camp, it's so open and pretty
The tents are nearly three feet apart

All of the campers are friendly
They visit us even when we're out
It's okay if some stuff gets stolen
Cause we enjoy doing without

Badly bruised legs from bumping into tent pegs
Are all part of the fun
You're under the sun, you're kept on the run
When the plumbing's not done
It took us two weeks to find out the tent leaks
And we almost drowned
Food was floating around, there was a horrible sound
Then the whole thing fell down

I'm trying to get back to nature
But snakes are a bit of a drag
I know they have a place and a purpose
But it shouldn't be in my sleeping bag

Campers don't shave or wear make-up
They don't change their clothes for a week
It's not a dignified habit
But it does keep the flies off the meat

Our lodgings are cramped, our excitement is damped
We've started to fight
Our site is a sight, we know it's not right
We're getting uptight
It's this camping mess that's put terrible stress
On our peace-keeping force
There's been slamming of doors, conversation's been coarse
And camping's the source
And it's shocking of course to think a park in the forest
Can be grounds for divorce!

I think the song was funny. Ty I never heard this before. We just got back from camping last week. Had a good laugh from this song.:)
