it is liebesleid and not liebeslied actually. in german it makes a huge difference!

I've only heard this before as Max Raabe's version of 'Die Liebe Kommt, die Liebe Geht'. It is really nice to hear this original, beautiful version. Thank you for posting.

Gidon Kremer played this as an encore in concert last sunday in Amsterdam: brilliant!!. And I softly hummed to myself the words as sung by the Comedian Harmonists:
