This is sad. Perhaps another good example of failed socialism run amuck. It aint' mine so who really gives a dam to actually fix it and get some more use from this equipment. Now our government wants to run health care!

In Australia, it's a more common practice to send them out to auction when a mining company decides they don't want to do anything with them. local CAT dealers even do some reconditioning on them, so they can sell them used. The engines and generators in the Komatsus could be turned into power generating plants, the CATs could be either sold or stripped for parts. They're out of their minds to do this!

But I think they prefer to buy new ones more efficient.
the lack of customers/competitors with enough money to buy those in this country is maybe one reason why they are rotting there too.
It's Russia and Alrosa is the big one in this activity.
