OK this is like a half try at a what if, but with no sort of what if. In Hercules, Hades explains how Meg is in his control (in beginning). I go more in-depth and say that Eric is that guy. But there is a twist; I am putting it so that Eric likes both of the girls (Arial and Megera). But he in the end picks Arial. Meg is devastated and goes to Hades to help split the couple up. She then watches as Ursula kills Eric instead, and so she begs Hade to bring him back. He does but in exchange for her soul, but Eric goes for Ariel again. Guess what happens in the end!!!
Ok so back and white is the past (big surprise there) and coulored is the present. For most of the movie and present in the battle with Ursula and the past is how they got there.
