Game Intro of Cuban Missile Crisis: Aftermath

The RTS+Turn-Based-Strategy game Cuban Missile Crisis: Aftermath is produced by G5 Software and released by Strategy First.

The game depicts a deviate history of Cold War gone hot. After the major nuclear duels, the remaining factions started to grab those last un-harmed regions and resources with conventional arms, and the new war began...

I will briefly talk about the game here. Defect first: The gameplay is highly repetitive, obviously not enough maps are prepared to make this world-staged game looks like "the world". Also, the process of a combat is too centered on tanks that infantry plays an minor, if any, role.

Despite these defects, I still enjoyed very much the game for its background setting and its brilliant collection of weapons from the Cold War period. There is nothing more exciting for me than seeing those Cold War machines which in reality never seen any action charging on the battlefield in the game. A great variety of planes, tanks and artillary pieces are well portrayed by the 3D-integrated 2D engine.

For those who has a favor on Cold War warmachines, this game is an only and genuine choice as far as I know in the field of recent RTS games.

@majorgeek1000 Even one little nuclear device can be enough to stop even the most fanatical and powerful enemy. And we are talking about Cuba,your neighbour so its only matter of luck to hit and eliminate 2 or 3 milion people at best. Full strike means somewhat 30 milion living humans turned into nuclear ash.Do you think that your goverment wanted ever to take that risk?

@majorgeek1000 Yeah,Warsaw Pact would be destroyed,but we are talking about nuclear warfare.Total destruction of the one superpower would be the end of the others. Soviets were not so defensless. Maybe they would have the biggest casualties but they certainly would answer with their weapons. If the solution was so EASY then why USA didnt do that?Any predicted nuclear conflict is the conflict without victory,its only about surviving.Even if USA would have much larger firepower,risk is too high.

This game is heavily inaccurate in the Historical aspect.In 1962, the US had 170 ICBMs, and SAC.The USSR had at most two dozen ICBMs that couldn't reach the US (thats why the Soviets deployed Missiles to Cuba, so they could reach the US), and a weak bomber force.Any Nuclear war would have ended with the destruction of the Warsaw Pact at the hands of the US.

Its a PC game, modern warfare type, and its turn based.. in the storyline, the US is divided in a civil war, and you can pick one of the sides and you have to take over the US..

The way it works is you buy your units with cash in the beginning of a turrn and deploy them on the terrain in aturn based manner.. lets say you deploy an anti air unit, and an airplane is deployed and flys by, it gets shot,.. its not a very old game, maybe year 2000 something..

but the best infantry is the soviet one.The AK 47 are crushing the Us M1Garand and the chinese firecrakers.The resistanse comes w' the german MP 44.But still... not enough because the german infantry is not many.And the German APCs suck because they are not armed.Now i am looking up the Cuban missile crisis:Ice crusade

Please help me.I have passed the all campains but i cant the third chapter with the soviets.I need to make a special operation-to sneak in the chinese camp and rescue the POWs but i always get failed.I got big impressions from the game but the infantry is way weaker than the real world and The Us-Gb campaing is the easiest and the Fr-Gr campain is the hardest-kinda of outdated tanks(exept Centurion) and China have A LOT of infantry which have nice rapid firing SMG-s
