Fixed Xbox 360 Tray Won't Close Permanent Fix

This is a fix that worked for me. I found it out myself. To take the tray out follow this link..

Thanks man I'm gonna try this, I found a 360 that someone trashed, hard drive and all. It works but the tray won't stay closed. I'm gonna try this today and see if it does. If yes, then free 360 for me! Thanks.

Why does It do this? My dumbfuck dad thinks it's cause we always play it, but I know that's not why, and I just wanna prove his dumb ass self wrong. XP

i have a similar issue, but this time the laser thing wont move up, like it gets stuck midway. i try to pull it up but nothing. any advice please?

I had this same issue. Followed your fix, and it worked. Until I put the top back on it, then, same issue. What I found was that when I'd smacked the top of it a couple times, to try to get it to open, I bent the sheet metal at the front of the drive case. Straightened it out, and it worked a charm. Thanks for the video showing where to clean and lubricate. Hope my comment helps others having problems like mine, after your fix.

NONE OF THIS WORKS my cd disk holder thingy whatever wont close AT ALL and i dont know how to open a black xbox to fix it. i think the gears are stuck or something.

thanx for the help but my tray was still doing the same thing i closed it and it didnt even try to read it just opened back up! but i saw that there was a small little metal tab not letting it go all the way up so i just bent it and now it works fine!

my problem is that the tray wont open unless there is a disk in it. and even then it sometimes wont do anything. and then it takes an hour of opening and closing the tray to finally get the game to read.. aaaannnddd theeeen it keeps freezing and doing the open tray thingy again.. i think i need a new console..
