Yes, this is the real thang! This is one of the most E.B. vids on 'Tube. Great horn on this, don't know who it is. S.F. loved E.B. Was a regular there. Lots of music people don't know what a shredder he is. Saw him with BB and Albert King. Great post! Thx!

@emithband Hi Stevie, I remember your name but it's been a long time. I was around a lot and I have to agree with you. Big Fun - exactly what the name says! One of my best memories was in a Tahoe casino when we were told to sit back down in our chairs (no dancing), so we picked up our chairs and kept dancing and they let us be. Who can sit still at an EB show??? Not me!

First time I saw Elvin, besides Crabshaw Corners in Sacramento he opened for 10 Years After at UOP. Then he and Alvin Lee jammed. Pretty hard to beat. It was about 1973.

...Stevie Gurr here:growing up in San Francisco,I was a frequent visitor of the Fillmore West,especially on the Wednesday nights that featured Elvin's and Boz Scaggs' bands...I loved both bands,but Elvin ALWAYS got my attention...about 15 years later I became a member of his group,and was for about seven years...Elvin is the best band leader I've ever been around..."Red Dog" is a good piece of wood,as EB would say...check out "Big Fun",an underrated but solid recording...thanks Elvin!!!...

I shot this on my old digital elph and the camera only took 30 second video clips. So I spliced together a bunch of clips which makes for the choppiness. I have a new elph which has no such restrictions, so when Elvin comes back, I'll do it right.
