Elvis Presley I Got Lucky
Written by Dolores Fuller, Fred Wise, and Ben Weisman. Elvis recorded it October 27, 1961 at Radio Recorders in Hollywood. It was featured in the 1962 movie Kid Galahad. It is available on Elvis at the Movies; Silver Screen Stereo; Command Performances-The Essential 60s Masters II and The I Got Lucky FTD Deluxe soundtrack CD, which is where this version is from

Never found a four leaf clover,
To bring good luck to me,
No rabbit's foot no lucky star,
No magic wishing tree,
But I got lucky,
Yes I got lucky,
When I found you,

Got no rainbow around my shoulder,
No horseshoe on my door,
But I got you to hold me tight
And who could ask for more,
Oh I got lucky,
Yes I got lucky
when I found you.

I always walk around with all my fingers crossed
cause I'm afraid the love I found, just might get lost

So won't you tell me, that you love me,
hurry up and name the day
and then I'll know that my good luck
Is really here to stay,
Oh I got lucky,
yes I got lucky
when I found you.

I always walk around with all my fingers crossed
I'm afraid the love I found, just might get lost

So won't you tell me that you love me,
Hurry up and name the day,
And then I'll know that my good luck is really here to stay.
Oh I got lucky,
Yes I got lucky
when I found you,

Oh I got lucky,
Yes I got lucky
when I found you

  • He sounds so good...what a voice...

  • not bad for a movie soundtrack song which usually weren't as good as his studio releases The Colonel stopped studio releases when movie revenues fell thinking too much exposure but Elvis was first and formost a singer and could play too He had immense talent obvious from the beginning but the Colonel's advice was not always the best but Elvis felt he owed him so no new songs from 63 until 68 what a loss the soundtrack songs is all we got he was so great and could have been so much more

  • This was one of my favorites of his movies, and had some great songs in it.
