Jackie Edwards - Tell Me Darling (original 1960)

Special upload for Mama Dee . Wilfred 'Jackie' Edwards was one of Jamaica's most romantic singers and songwriters. This particular track "Tell Me Darling" which was produced by Chris Blackwell, and has been described as a latin tinged ska ballad, was one of Edwards' very earliest and most popular hits - spending 8-weeks at No.1 in Jamaica in 1960. A true revival classic of that era which began the wonderful journey of what we now today call sweet Reggae music...

This brings back so many memories, i can remember buying this from a little old curiosity shop and cost me 1 & sixpence which is 7and half pence today. Spent the whole night winding (the gramophone) lol.

Bless Ricky.... the vast majority will prefer the 70's version anyway... why not do a video response if you like... I was going to upload a couple more of Jackie Edwards original No.1 hits of 60/61... it's nice to hear the early roots of reggae...
