Optical microscopy characterization of real-time thermal behaviour of Dimyristoylphosphatidylcholine (DMPC) nanometric film (5 to 6nm). The phospholipid bilayer is spin-coated on a Surf (new generation of optical slide provided by Nanolane) from chloroform solution. By heating the surface up to 50°C, the phospholipids spread out in layers. The spreading kinetics can be easily followed by sequential acquisition. A 3D representation of spreading can also be obtained.
