Forever HOPE...RIP sweet angel

A video of a dog who found and rescued by Shane... She was named Hope... her owner starved her and almost decapitated her head with electrical cord.;.. She survived about 10 days and passed away today,.. 7-26-2011

that sucks.......but I dont believe the person should be punished like it was a human.... it was a dog.... Probation will be plenty for the owner not the dealth penalty sheesh...... Its not the same thing as tortuting or starving a person

Just a dog? Oh how wrong you are. You should go on Facebook and see what this 'just a dog' has done to even the strongest of people. She has brought so many people together to fight for justice for her. Just a dog? You obviously haven't looked at her face or into her eyes. Just a dog? Hope had more heart and forgiveness in her than most humans. Anyone who says of Hope that she was just a dog, I feel sorry for them.

Im heartbroken, I thought she would make it. She needed to be in traction. They et her head move too much. Its like when you break your neck they put a bird cage on you. She needed to have to head immobile. Im just sick....

I bawling my eyes out. This is all just makes me so sad. This is just like Star. She, too, went through horrific abuse, survived against all odds, only to a short time after in her recovery. It's just so damned unfair. All the while, their abusers get to live their selfish lives. I am an Atheist, but I hope there is a special place for them ...

Just let everyone know that Hope's owner who inflicted this horrific abuse to her has been arrested and is in jail.

This just my opinion not a fact but u can tell hope had pit bull in her. I'm assuming that when he realized she wasn't full blooded he didn't want her and was probley already abusing her to make her vicious which obviously didn't work seeing that she was a very sweet dog. I wish they would give the death penalty for animal abusers too. :'(

God Bless Shane and Jan. Hope died in their arms with all the love in the world, after being left for dead alone in the woods. I pray her story will live on and serve as a legacy of awareness brought to dogs like her everywhere. We need a lot more people like Shane and Jan.

I too wish they would give the DEATH PENALTY to abusers. If not, they should put a chain around THIS abusers neck, like he did to this poor innocent dog. Just so sorry she did not make it. This cruelty really needs to stop. There should be tougher laws and punishment. This is HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE!! I feel so sad knowing she suffered so. Rest in peace, dear, SWEET HOPE!! You will not be forgotten. Love you sweetheart.

@terrillcase -- you are probaly a animal abuser yourself, how in the blue hell can you say that this ''person'' who killed hope only deserves PROBATION, THIS PERSON KILLED A LIVING BREATHING CREATURE, if you loved animals and thought of them as your kids, babies you sure as hell would feel different how would you feel, if someone wrapped electrical cord around your child's neck and left them to die,how upset would you be?? and for your information she was tortured and starved for days,weeks
