@Wills737 I don't know why he was fired and rehired. His firing came when new management entered the picture and, evidently, the new brass felt that Len did not fit in their vision for 33. I believe (key word here) that Len was rehired after his ex co-worker Pat Livingston (formerly Alexander) went to bat for him in 2001 and successfully lobbied for his reinstatement.

They used to be 33 Eyewitness News back in the day and switch to News Channel 33...Eyewitness News sounds soooo much better

There was another news tease where Jeff Laurence (the V/O talent) placed emphasis on "eleven" in his opening line. Tonight... at ELEVENNNN! That scared me several times.
