What's up, dawgs? This is Jager Weatherby from http://www.wetpaint.com, the best place to get all the latest scoop on American Idol. Today, we'd like to salute the keeper of the dog-pound himself, Randy Jackson. Here are some fun facts about the last-standing original Idol judge!

Turns out the guy who coined the term "pitchy" may be entitled to use it a zillion times per episode after all (though we've noticed he's really toned it down this season). In our exclusive interview with Billy Cobham, the legendary percussionist who gave Randy his very first gig, commented that, "He sure did sound like he was pitch perfect. All I know is, his bass was never out of tune."

Speaking of Randy's days as a rockin' bass player, did you know that he used to play for Journey? Well, maybe... he has mentioned it once or twice. But, here are some artists Randy's strummed with that he hasn't name-dropped: Mariah Carey, *NSYNC, Whitney Houston, Celine Dion, Elton John, and Madonna, among others. Now that's pretty impressive!

You know what else is impressive? With the help of gastric bypass surgery in 2003, Randy has lost over a 100 pounds. Go, Randy! We bet he was especially happy about his new physique, given his passion for fashion. Randy loves to post about his outfits on Twitter, not to mention his many accessories. Gotta love a man with style!

Now Randy was born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and despite many rumors and the obvious same last name, he is not related to Samuel L. Jackson... or Michael, or Janet, or LaToya, or Tito — you get the picture. He does, however, have three little Jacksons of his own: a daughter named Taylor from his first marriage to singer-songwriter Elizabeth Jackson, and two kids from his current marriage to former ballet dancer Erika Riker: daughter Zoe and son Jordan. Cute!

Last but not least, not only does Randy provide useful feedback on the panel of Idol, he also serves as executive producer of dance competition show, America's Best Dance Crew. Busy, busy!
