I have one purchased off a church in Bronxville NY. They are forever. Fine, because it will take forever to master the fingering and learn to really make music on this otherworldly guitar with a keyboard. I've learned to change sttrings after attempting mean-tone tuning and PING. The Kottick book was way to detailed for me to understand, but I finally got the gist, ie. keep the string tight, no twists, and on the correct "path". I was told the instrument chooses the player. Lucky me.
