@iEatPorkchop Dude, I posted that two months ago. It was before everyone started using it. Calm yourself.
-
@Conner526 Did you make that joke yourself? No, just kidding, I already know you didn't from seeing this shit posted in EVERY FUCKING VIDEO that's low quality. Why can't you fuckers just shut the fuck up.
-
Wow. I didn't know 8-bit Atari graphics were still in use. I'll have to dig up my old VGA Monitor to view it properly! JUST KIDDIN!
-
Did you record with a calculator?
-
@jeffwsi they didnt go at 2 tereflops from what i remember. the max was at 1.7 tereflops at 5.2 ghz
-
You can get 2TFLOP from a high end gpu nowadays, no need for 80 cores ^^
-
only bottleneck ram if you dont have enough ram to do what need to be processd. thats why there more cores to load balence cuz most the time 1 core is doing everything, intel always makes a new chipset for every processor socket so it will have what it need to run right.
-
*want=won't (other post)
... and you will still have the problem of getting enough data - bottleneck: RAM, cache won't help that much, different problems of updates, access, ...
4. the right tool? Sure, some problems can be better solved on GPU, but "most" problems are not that parallel - they have jumps, branches, ...
--> the user will decide what he needs and what he wants to work with
gamers: both
firms: depending
user@home: CPU and "small" GPU - cause his problems won't grow that fast...
-
@Defrector wtf? Why did you reply, if you don't want to. ;)
1. no CPUs can do some problems, same problem (by threading, ...) different problems/programs... parallel on all cores... MIMD
2. GPUs can do that, too, but they are SIMD so it will not be that efficent
3. growing capabilities of cores want help that much...
faster - more energy for cooling
more OpCodes - have to be usefull 4 problems and used by programmer
more cores - have to be used, not all problems can be threaded (again and again)
-
It would just be nice to see that functionality in the users hands by means of republican heartlessness, so that it can become a 160 chip.
Intel 80 core CPU running at two teraflops. Sorry for the poor resolution video. Blame my Treo and the 470K email attachment limitation.
