  • wow they're both in their final year at Harvard Medicine and have 2 kids how in the hell did they manage that?! I'm going into nursing so that I can have a life and still work in the hospital, the hospital is where I want to be and I know that. I'm currently waiting for my acceptance letters from nursing school and not a day goes by when I don't think that medical school might be a better fit - stupid work/life balance!

  • I get GOOSEBUMPS when i see hospitals. Ahhhh one day, i can already see myself walking down those halls!

  • I have mild acne problems, what the hell would I look like practicing dermatology? It's sad, I wish I had 100% perfect skin.

I'm really proud of this woman though, addressing specific issues that have to do with darker skin. Our skin is different, and reacts differently to different skin conditions, and to different medical treatments.

  • im jealous I wish I was a MD

  • cardiology- there are so many obese people that there's always a need for a good cardiologist. :P derm is not fair cuz if they don't as hard and get paid more, that's just retarded and increases inflation. I guess they get paid more for just staring at people dying from boredom... and a lot of US med students are going into ortho/neuro/oncolgy. the ones who get a gag reflex from cadavers become dermotologists.

  • This does not speak for all medical students, it seems to just cover US students. As a future FMG, my focus shall remain on Pediatric Neurology as long as I find it interesting. While I realize that having a life outside of one's career is important I chose to study medicine because I liked the idea of medicine being my life. It's fascinating, interesting, and never boring.

  • Yah. Really interesting to the point that it shows how ridiculous things have become in the US. A "Harvard" student is going into dermatology versus something that is probably more in practical need, which is like every other specialty. However, vanity prevails!

I hope more premedical students see this and decide to steer clear of medicine. It is not rewarding to take care of people who value their skin more than their insides.

  • interesting video.
