You're spouting Malcolm McLaren bullshit. He didn't create the Sex Pistols as some manufactured public image, although he most certainly wanted to, and still claims to this day to have. (Sid was just a fake image, guy couldn't even play Bass)
They did invent Punk. Everything after the second wave of punk (which I see as America coming into it's own sound after Punk exploded in the UK) has mostly just been rip offs.

I have a cruch on John Lydon cuz he is badass, genious, beautiful, original and a fucking great singer ( i dont care if something thinks he sucks) & I love Sid too (cuz for his additude, his beautiful face and his fucking great style) I know punk is not about fashion, its about having ur own style, ur additude great and being yourself in first place, but the other members rocks too , Sex Pistols rocks!! /m\
