Let me make it clear before somebody accuses me once again in copying other people's designs. I am not a fashion designer- I am an architect with a passion for drawing. Yes, all designs are either my interpretations of costumes from movies or were worn by celebrities on the red carpet .
I repeat, I am here not to show you my own ideas or to teach you how to DESIGN. The only thing I could show you is my drawing technique and how do I present fabrics, figures or colors in illustrations.

Hmm, if you are an architect, how do you know so many things about fabrics and how can you draw people so good?

@BlackMemory45 If I have to be honest, I started with drawing people BEFORE I started to draw architecture :)))) I always have been better in drawing figures, portraits than in architectural perspectives. I know so much about it because I do my homework :)) I have a good collection of books, I do a lot of inquiries and in combination with my own experience, I can give you any information you may desire.

how do you know where to put the shadows... i know for you its probably just a 'feel', but agh!! my shadows in the fabric's wrinkles always look all wrong!

Elidada! Immediately after you place the base grey in the jacket you begin drawing about 5 simple, black shapes on the model's left sleeve. With a few well-placed, abstract shapes you create the depth/shadow/highlight of the fabric as well as indicate the style.I know it's not random but it also can't be as difficult as it seems. I always get hung up here & ruin my drawings- how many folds/pleats/wrinkles and where to place them. Logic? Formula? (I know practice is key) Thanks for sharing!
