such a great balance of Maybelle's rock solid and unique picking, Sara's plaintive lead vocals, and AP's masterful harmonies. This is food for the soul.

@marvincooley Chorus
There climbs the vines and there the berries grow
Which once we prized so high
And there the ripe nuts glisten in the glow of rich October skies
Chorus
-
Fond memory paints us scenes of other years We need our memories still And prized amid those joyous scenes and years The school house on the hill Chorus Oh the school house that stands upon the hill I never never can forget Dear happy days will gather round me still I never no never can forget There hangs a swing upon the maple tree Where you and I once swung There flows the spring forever flowing free As when we both were young

I have a theory about the music from what I call the Magical Musical Triangle formed by the Tenn Va and N. C. area of the Clinch Mountains. I have done over a 1 and 1/2 year study of the music and it cannot be topped. The hard, hard life and the musical genes created something most magical and it appealed to the spirits withering in the hardships of the depression. There was a bittersweet connection between the music and the dispossessed.
