Actually it is not.
It is on the street when you have to beat or slap your kid when he missbehave.
There is no need to hit them while at home you just grab their arms and sit them on a chair for an entire afternoon and they won't disobey you again.
However you can't do that on the street or wait to get home, kids emotions are volatile and its pointless and cruel to punish them later.
They are not adults who know what's wrong before they do it; they need to learn why what they did was wrong.

@Maskedmutant Of course....if he made a mistake and dropped my cell phone or my keys I wouldn't go upside his head because of THAT. Parents need to know the difference between abuse and discipline. If they're abusive then they deserve to go to jail

The government need to know the diff between discipline and abuse....burning your child with cigarette butts because they act like CHILDREN and you are frustrated is abuse...smacking the behind a couple times because they talked back to you one too many times, in my opinion, is discipline. My son was wilding out on the floor FULL FLEDGE tantrum mode cuz I said he couldn't have something. I yoked his ass up and swatted him on his ass and he got it 2gether and yes it was in public. Was I wrong?
