Little Butterfly? What butterfly?
Little Butterfly is a metaphor used in the song. The first chorus has the implication of what a mother would say to her child; so the little butterfly represents her child. In the second chorus, the intention is for the singer to be singing about herself as the little butterfly like a bitter-sweet encouragement - "you'll get ther someday but don't know when or whether it'll happen" kind of feeling. Hence, the minor chords.

WHY Butterfly?
There are many links with butterflies in mythology from all over the world, for the Celts it represents transformation, inspiration and rebirth. In China it symbolises joy and transformation, in ancient mythology, wisdom and knowledge.

We are all small and appear to be the same(like the catapillar), but as we grow older our true beauty shows (like the butterfly). Like a butterfly, we are all different, and beautiful in our own way. Butterflies go through several stages of transformation. The egg, larvae, pupa and the final state of beauty, the butterfly. These stages reflects how we start from nothing and work hard to reach our end goal to obtain a better way of thought and living.

How were you inspired to write this song?
Currently I feel I'm like the butterfly breaking out from by cocoon. It's tough crawling out. Don't know if I'll be eaten before I hit the skies. Still have to wait for my wings to dry first before I take my first flight. It is how I feel as a singer songwriter and as a person in today's society. I need to work harder and be paitient and wait a while longer, I might just see the fruit of my efforts. The time when I've become a singer is the time when I've taken to the skies. But people can interprete this song with different goals in thier life.

What is the message of your song
It is hard to chase a dream. But just wait a while longer, your dream might just be around the corner.

Summarise
The song is to encourage people not to give up on their dreams because if you give up, it won't happen, and if you persevere there's still possibility.
