ANGEL BABY ~ Rosie Hamlin & The Originals ~ 1960 ~ Highland Records. She spent part of her life growing up in Alaska and at some point picked up the nick name "Carrot Top" because of her red hair. Later, she moved to the Los Angels area and the rest is history. ANGEL BABY has probably grown more popular today than it may have been back in 1960, either way, it's a fantastic ballad by a very talented & gorgeous singer!!
I always considered this the greatest guitar intro ever ever! And she proceeds to tear you
r heart out.

Highland Records was in Los Angeles but Rosie lived in San Diego. Listen to how the drummer keeps reversing the beat. It's still a powerfully nostalgic song.

This is the version they played on the radio back in 1960-1961. It was extremely long for that period--almost four minutes! Long intro and no fade. Kudos!! Surprised no one else has commented on it so far...
