@runeski74 (Sorry, accidentally deleted your comment.) Yup, still using it. Sure beats picking up the split logs up after every swing. I tie some thin rope at one end of the bungee that has a couple of loops tied in it. Then I have more options for hooking into depending on the diameter of the log. Happy Holidays!

my eight pound collins splitting maul would have done the job faster. nicely done though. i always love to see cutting instruments in action.

@prometheus19799791 Thanks for visiting. I've got the same maul, and used it before getting this Fiskars splitter. I don't miss it at all. It's amazing what this 4.5 lb axe can do. I pull out the maul for the really tough stuff. I must say that it does feel good to swing that long handle from time to time from around and over the shoulder! Wham!

what the difference in standard vs. X series? both seem equal to me.

@losteden I'm not sure, just heard about them from you. I like that Fiskars now makes a splitting axe with a 36" handle — the X27. That was a much needed option. Other than that, they sound like the same axes. Maybe just a branding thing, to make it sound like something new. Thanks for visiting.

And I thought I was the only one who liked listening to jazz when I'm splitting wood. ;)
