Johann Pachelbel (1653-1706) This is the third and final movement of the first Concerto (there are 2) as arranged for the Harmonium. Using a wedge, I was able to create a "Pedal Point effect" so as to help fill in what the original Pipe Organ version plays. It is hard to believe that both Pachelbel Concertos had to wait for so many years before being published for the 1st time in 1997. (They were composed 40 or so years earlier.) My original inscription for the Concertos was: "Two Pachelbel Organ Concertos," but at publication time it was changed to "Two Organ Concertos in the style of Johann Pachelbel." It is true that Pachelbel never composed any Organ Concertos, but had he done so they may have had somewhat the flavor I have attempted to achieve as close as possible to the "Pachelbel sound."

  • Fantasic piece and playing Justin! so glad that the Trayser came back to life and what a great voice it has. I look forward to hearing some French music (grin).

  • @musicman7nc Hi and thank you ever so much! :-) Don't worry, French Romantic-Modern "will" be eventually heard. (Right now the Octave Coupler in my Molline is driving me nuts!) As if I were not any way. LOL :-) Take care-

    Justin~

  • @dibfranciss I hear you. Sure wish I had a Reed Organ with one of these. Maybe I'll stumble across one someday, but in the meantime, where to put it? LOL :-)

  • @Musique3579 Yes, indeed!! This is a must !! I wish I could have this pedal effect option in my Shoninger, the closest I get is the sub bass or bass coupler !

  • @AlleySbb Thanks! :-)

  • @shabbesgoj Great and glad I could start somebodys day off on a bright "note!" ( No pun intended.) LOL :-) Glad you liked. Thanks ever so much.

  • @Enofrappini Yes, the sound, (especially when heard in person) is really quite astounding. The composition being played is one of my own invention. It was composed many years ago to fill a need I had for recital purposes. I have always like the music of Pachelbel but alas, he never composed a Concerto. So as well as I could, I composed 2 for him. (Info is all in the notes below the video.) Perhaps I should present this 1st Concerto in its entirety of 3 movements? All the best. Thanks again.
