Recorded off of Retro Television Network (RTN). An imfomercial followed Jack Benny @ 2 AM and a little of that slipped in here between set two and three.
after over 30 years ( and I am hitting 38 years old) I FINALLY GOT ON VIDEO TAPE (YES VHS) the episode where jack benny's violin playing caused him to be arrested for disturbing the peace!!!
Look at that cast at 1:38: Mel Blanc (nuff said); Joe Besser (later of the Three Stooges); and Sheldon Leonard (who helped created the Dick Van Dyke Show and other classic sitcoms).
There was another Jack Benny closing theme, used for the syndicated version. The shows were then titled "The Jack Benny Daytime Shows" and "Sundays with Jack Benny." It you could put those on YT, I'd appreciate it - thanx.
I noticed that in the last opening sequence, Max Bygraves was going to be the special guest. Is there any way you could put that particular episode on YouTube? That was one of my favorites. Thanx.
The closing theme, "J & M Stomp", written by Mahlon Merrick, was primarily used in the 1954-'64 filmed episodes. Jack was SO impressed with Rene Bouche's drawing of him (initially used in CBS newspaper ads in the fall of '54), he insisted on using it in his opening and closing titles through the end of his weekly series. Fred DeCordova was a close friend of Jack's AND George Burns, as he was also producer/director for three seasons of "THE GEORGE BURNS AND GRACIE ALLEN SHOW" in the '50s.
Noticed two names in the last set of closing credits: Freddie deCordeva, who would be Johnny Carson's producer on "The Tonight Show," and Richard Dawson, before he did "Hogan's Heroes" and "Family Feud."
On the special on 1974 the producers used that drawing to honor Benny. It was hosted by Charles Kuralt.

I'd like to see someone post the opening and closing from 1964-65 when Benny's show was on NBC.
