The pinky is about "the red thread of destiny" that bounds soulmates to each other, is weird but they grab each other by the pinky instead of the whole hand, is weird, but good weird XDD but you won't see a girl do the "pinky thing" because for more masculine aproach they use "thumbs" for indicating "koibito" because is more "manly" XDDD yeah Japanese lol
