In order to balance two fundamental goals, such as safeguarding the natural heritage of the planet and the spread of wealth among the population, we need a pragmatic approach.

This video we made shows the story of a girl who, after spending a part of her life in pursuing the traditional "green" aims and goals, changes her mind about her preconceptions during a trip to Asia.
We started this campaign because we felt that green NGOs only show a part of the truth when promoting their "crusades": they often choose to identify themselves with "good" and label as "evil" anyone who does not share their views; we think that this approach to environmental issues is not only wrong in itself, but obsolete and out-of-date in times like these.

Our goal is to promote a more pragmatic kind of environmentalism, based on the idea that in order to save the planet, the first thing to do is fight against poverty.

so she was wrong about stoping being wasteful and poising the environment the west? but solveing China's problems is the solution to everything? I'm all about stopping poverty but explain to me how cleaning our environment is wrong ? there was no facts backing anything she said.

Who says everyone cannot be rich? Resources are bad distributed, few own all. If the resources were well distributed evreyone would be rich. There is no reason why only few people may posesse all. Thats funny how they are blaming the west when actually China is the biggest C02 emission producer. And for there to be rich countrys there needs to be poor countrys. Thats how the world works. Everyone cant all be rich.

What is needed is a return to a simpler lifestyle by those of us who live in the developed world. But, without an ecosystems approach to development, there will soon be no wilderness left on earth. Humans will survive but the rich diversity of life that we once enjoyed on this planet will be gone-a world without tigers, elephants, polar bears, 600 year old trees...How then shall we live?
