Milan, the second largest city in Italy, is a thriving cosmopolitan business capital and the center of cultural and tourist activities. The main industries of Milan are textiles, the manufacture of cars, machinery, chemicals and paper-making.

* Basilica of Sant'Ambrogio -- One of the oldest churches in Milan, built by Bishop Ambrose in 379-386 AD.

  • I picked on Milan to make a comment cause it's in northern Italy and has weather very typical of Vancouver Canada. Right now we are having a rare snowstorm..it's approx 1c and it snowing heavily, i'd say we have 2 inches now. We live on higher ground inland from the water in Surrey but even by the beach I'm sure it's snowing but very wet snow. Milan has very old buildings compared to what we have here, our oldest buildings are only a century old, like a few churches downtown. thx4 psotin'
