This whodunit series based on Agatha Christie's crime novels and short stories, is named after its star sleuth, Hercule Poirot, a famous former Belgian policeman, who settled for good in London after the war, soon so famous as an infallible private detective that he becomes a society figure in his own right. In each episode Poirot gets to solve a crime mystery -mostly murder(s)- for a paying client or otherwise catching his attention, generally along with his faithful English sidekick Captain Hastings and/or his Scotland yard 'friendly rival' Detective Chief Inspector Japp.

Starring: David Suchet ; Hugh Fraser; Pauline Moran & Philip Jackson

  • I don't understand anything. Who was the thief? Was it the countess? Why did he let her go? This episode is very ambiguous.

  • @HAZIDEAD The countess was the thief. I think he let her go partly because he was in love with her and partly because he understood her motivations for doing so. You see most, if not all, russian aristocrats were impoverished due to the Russian Revolution & I think the countess took to thieving not only to survive but also to preserve on some level the lifestyle she was accustomed to & it gave her a thrill. In addition he saw her as his equal-on the other side of the fence so to speak.

  • What a triangle. Poirot in love with a thief, and miss lemon in love with Poirot.

  • OMG she kisses him on the forehead. It's so cute! :)

  • nice of him to toss a bone to Japp from time to time.

  • So moving... I was sad all the time because I expected this romance is not going to end well. Oh, dear Poirot :(

  • @KenyanBunnie not to attempt another theft.

  • Why does she need the bodyguards?

  • My question is who did the thefts at the beginning of the episode?

  • Tears...good bye love of Poirot!!! end.

  • Thank god she was just a thief, imagine if Poirot had fallen for a murderer!

  • Wow that was really good... It was amazing - the bit when Ms. Lemon contemplated life without Poirot Lol

And poor old Captain Hastings, tried to be a detective for the day and failed. But semi understood what was going on when the Countess Fuc*ed up.. Nice work Agatha !
