  • Walter Lee, needs to grow up. The mother done the right thing. She's the brain of the family...

  • @unefilleanonyme12 imho, she did the right thing. I was raised in the projects of NYC, I know how it is to be on top of people and and not have no hope so whenever I see that scene, I feel the hope of Mama Younger too.

  • you love to offend..but then have no balls to respond....maricon....when we doing this..grand master thingy...?ol'school stilo...lil Mz.Forbes

  • I truly feel sorry for you millennial kids who have no frame of reference by which to measure life, outside of the artificial, surreal, electronic-kaleidoscopic world into which you were born. You process reality through your limited range of understanding and think yourselves clever. I was 11 when this film emerged. "Mamma" is a realistic portrayal of the wise black grandmother way back in the day--not like those loud, vile simian creatures one sees on Pervert Maury's menagerie of freaks show.

  • walter really gets on my nerves

  • dont worry mama !! you DID the right thing <3

  • @11polkadot1

I see your point, I find many of those "fake" moments to be very funny. But I actually appreciate her skills and actors were trained much differently in her time. Also I don't think there were many mature african american women to choose from.

In contrast, I have issues with the wife, Ruby Dee, I find it difficult to understand her words and thought she was rather bland. Diahann Carroll would have been a great choice IMO.

  • @11polkadot1 you can't be serious, this is a great movie and everyone played a great role. Anyone else played Momma would not be the same. You must be a youngster not understanding the times. This is one if not the best movie ever made as acting goes but just my opinion.

  • This is a great play/movie -don't get me wrong- but I wish they would've gotten someone else to play "Momma." This lady is too fake old and kind of over-acts... It bothers me. lol

  • Dang, Grandma is pretty awesome.
