This was part of a project for a local (Perth W.A.) documentary
about Reg Ansett that was never used. The Biplane was modeled and textured in Maya,
texture maps were painted in Photoshop, the rendering was completed
using Maya's standard renderer and Mental Ray and the final images
were composited in After Effects.
Modeling and texturing took about 4 weeks (part time). The final
output was completed in a night.

sweet, how do you actually link the texture to the mesh? im trying to do something like this with blender but no matter how hard i try, i cant link texture to meshes.
