Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum has been known for his vast charitable donations. On May 19, 2007, he announced plans to give $US100m to set up the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation, an educational foundation in the Middle East, one of the largest charitable donations in history.[13] Sheikh Mohammed stated that the money is meant to bridge the knowledge gap between the Arab region and the developed world, improving the standard of education and research in the region, developing leadership programs for youth, and stimulating job creation. The announcement was made at the 2007 World Economic Forum in Jordan.

Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid al Maktoum (born November 13, 1982)[1] is the Crown Prince of Dubai and the second eldest son of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and Sheikha Hind bint Maktoum bin Juma Al Maktoum.

Sheikh Hamdan began his schooling in Dubai at the Rashid Private School and then continued his studies in the United Kingdom.[2] There, he graduated from Sandhurst and later attended the London School of Economics.[1] He was recently appointed as the Chairman of the Dubai Executive Council in September 2006.[1] He also is the head of the Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Establishment for Young Business Leaders, and the president of the Dubai Sports Council and the Dubai Autism Centre.[2]

He is known for both his poetry and as a horse rider. His poems are mainly romantic, patriotic and about his family. He publishes his poems under the name Fazza [3] (فزاع).

He won the gold medal in Equestrian at the Asian Games.[2] Sheikh Hamdan also has a passion for cars, including Mercedes Benz, Jeeps used for treading the deserts, Porsches and a Ferrari.

On 1 February 2008, Sheikh Mohammed appointed Sheikh Hamdan as the Crown Prince of Dubai. As the new Crown Prince, he has recently appointed new key personal and financial advisors such as global economist John Calverley and hedge fund tycoon James T. Naeem of HN Capital LLP.[1]

Stop talking about Shaikh something wrong. He is a great man and has done a lot good things for his nation even lot of people enjoy his country and where is very peaceful you will never find such a place in Europe nor in US........!!!! This Sheikh and his son went 2nd and 3rd in world equestrian endurance 100 mile ride. Last year in Kentucky. Amazing feat and UAE won the team title. he is awesome leader who competes with the best in the world. No one else in leadership or political leader compares to him.

ok we can all agree that dubai is a beautiful paradise, the shaikh can build islands and sky scrapers at record times, but something simple like human rights should not be a problem for him to correct. i mean he is rich right? i think its all bullshit if you ask me. i wouldnt travel there until this is corrected, yes america was built on slave and all, but america has changed, we dont have such places here
