A demonstration of my tilting car lift. When using this lift on tarmac you will need to add a hard surface for the runners or else they will dig in. I have used some angle iron I got from a local metal supplier. You also need a drill with high torque. I'm using a dewalt DK25404K with chuck attachment. A much cheaper option would be a mixer drill such as a "Silverline 123557 600w low speed mixing drill" or "Erbauer ERB20GM 800W Mixer Drill" Often you can find used mixer drills on E bay.

  • No, you won't be able to move it once you have raised it.

  • we have one at work, great lift but what kind of drill are you using to put it up and down with?It must be quite high torque drill

  • @cbx750frider

The drill I'm using is a dewalt DK25404K (very expensive). Its an SDS drill and I had to buy anther chuck be able to use it with this lift. If I didn't already have this drill then I would have looked at buying a cheap but high torque mixer drill such as "Erbauer ERB20GM 800W Mixer 230V" which can be brought from screwfix. What drill are you using?

  • Im using 75mm X 75MM angle iron which is 10mm thick! Total over kill

Had to make a small cut out on the passenger side angle iron to clear the lifts gear box . If I could have choosen the perfect size angle iron then it would have been 75mm wide by about 20mm or so high and about 5mm thick. This would have avoided the issue of the lift not being able to lower fully due to the hieght of the angle iron. I may get round to cutting mine down some day. But its still works fine. Hope this helps.

  • how much are they???

  • Hi mate iv just got one of these althoe havnt used it yet.interesting point about damage to Tarmac.i noticed you said ideally use angle iron that's 75mm wide by 20mm tall by 5mm thick, what length would it need to be ?

  • With the 4 car wheels up in the air are you able to slide the combo sideways as I only have a single garage and I need to replace the coilovers working down each side of the car? Thanks

  • Are these available in the United States?

  • @richardmorgan1

we are just using the handle supplied. We got a bosch drill but it has no where near enough power to lift the car

  • What length and width of angle iron did you use?

I was thinking the same for my lift.
