He didn't diss Mullen—Rodney admits the same thing in his book! Rodney also calls Kevin his favorite freestyler in his book and Kevin often cites Rodney as his favorite freestyler. Simple fact: Rodney was too dominant and contests got boring. Good for street skating that used his tech skills as building blocks and bad for freestyle.

haha well you have to admit he is right mullen did kind of kill the sport. Keep in mind though Kevin does not hate mullen nor does he think his mission was to kill freestyle mullen was just having fun fact is though he was TOO good.

......Indirectly, was the invincibility of Mullen that made Freestyle predictable, and somehow it happens even today when it comes to championships, but I agree that with respect to level, many skateboarders nowadays have this capability.

You can not compare anyone to Rodney Mullen. His achievements speak for themselves and his creativity has never been overcome. What I consider important evidence, from another legend of skateboarding, Kevin Harris, is his opinion on what probably led freestyle to leave the scene and only go back a decade later. Do not just imitate the masters, many have tried, but fortunately today we have many talented skaters with their own style. Learn difficult tricks only requires practice...
