what you need:
template DNA
enzymes (HPGLP)
Helicase - unwinds DNA helix ahead of replication fork
Polymerase (I and III) - replicates DNA
Gyrase - temporarily breaks strands of DNA to relieve tension
Ligase - binds the DNA fragments with phosphodiester bonds
Primase - brings in RNA primer

others: Mg++, RNA, protein factors

Main differences between prokaryotes and eukaryotes
1. speed of replication
2. directions
3. length of okazaki strands
