Larry Graham and his screaming bass. Graham had the world's first talking bass in 1977 with his hit release "Now Do Ya Wanna Dance", from which this solo is derived from the unprecedented song on the same release entitled "Earthquake".

This is the man with the hands that started it all, "thumping and plucking" on the bass. The first part of the solo portion of the clip features the bassline from the song "People" written by Larry for the flagship Graham Central Station release. A lot of folks ask about that bass line, most recognize the others.

  • that slap line is insane to play! can anyone do it?

  • That's from the song entitled Earthquake on the "Now Do Ya Wanna Dance" album. Yes it in insane, but it's also the authentic item. Just remember he started this style of playing. Thanks for the comment.

  • очень пунично с его стороны

  • Very what from it's side? Punchino was the word mistranslated.

  • 1:37 kind of sounds like aeroplane from red hot chili peppers just different a different slap

  • Perhaps Flea got it from the father of slap, could it be? Larry Graham been doing this since the mid/late 60's. The video proof is out there...
